BOARD CERTIFICATION

par-2What Does Board Certified Mean?
Board certification is The Florida Bar’s highest level of evaluation of the competency and experience of attorney in the areas of expertise recognized by the Supreme Court of the State of Florida. Only 7% of eligible members of the Florida Bar have the distinction of being board certified.

How Does a Lawyer Become Board Certified?
Board certification recognizes attorneys’ special knowledge, skills and proficiency in a particular area of law and their professionalism and ethics in practice. Only board certified Florida Bar members can identify themselves as specialists or experts. Board certified attorneys have demonstrated a substantial involvement in their certified field of law, received the recognition of their peers through review of their competence, character, ethics and professionalism in the practice of law, fulfilled continuing legal education requirements as well as successfully passed the examination required in their field or met strict criteria to be exempt from the exam.
